Call of Duty: World at War - Weeknights vs Weekends

The average skill level of weekend Call of Duty players is lower than that of the weeknight player. Since it was raining all weekend I sat down and played CoD for the better part of an afternoon. This is one of only a few chance’s I’ve had to play CoD on a Sunday afternoon. It became clear that the players are not as good as the weeknight people. I had a couple 40+ kill sessions with under 15 deaths. For me that is a pretty high kill rate.

The nice thing about the weekend is that there were a lot more players. There were consistently about 100,000 players which is quite a bit more than the 70,000 players I’m used to seeing on a weeknight. That gave me a chance to play some game modes that I don’t usually see like War and Ground War. Typically there are not many War players when I’m online (10PM Pacific = 1AM Eastern). If I try to play on a weeknight I cannot get a good connection to War/Ground War because there are only maybe 300 players in each game mode and it they all live in Australia (AUS clan signs). That limits my weeknight games primarily to 4 common modes: Deathmatch (free or team) and Headquarters, Search & Destroy.

I finally hit Level 65 with a total of about 2 days, 4 hours of game time. I’m going to savor Level 65 a while before I prestige up because it’s nice to finally have all the guns and the flamethrower. The flamethrower is awesome. Headshots with a double tap DP28 have been very easy to get.
