Coriya Hot Pot City in SF and Bay Meadows Special Fridays
Friday I went to Bay Meadows Racecourse to watch the ponies run. On special Fridays they have an awesome deal — $1 admission, $1 beer (7-8PM MGD only), $2 beer (after 8PM MGD only but bigger cups), and $1 hot dogs. The “gotcha” is the $4 parking fee. My evening of 2 hot dogs, 4 beers and gambling losses cost me about $22.
Saturday evening I headed over to Coriya Hot Pot City, an all-you-can-eat cook your own beef and hot pot in the Richmond district of San Francisco. Coriya offers a nice mix of BBQ options and hot pot ingredients. The way it works is you get a little pot of boiling water placed in the middle of an aluminum-covered barbecue ring. You put seafood and thin-sliced meats into the hot pot — but not for long otherwise it will get overcooked — and you put the marinated BBQ meats around the side ring. My buddy and I plowed through 2 full meat plates (the BBQ portion) and 2 plates of miscellaneous veggies with seafoods. Awesome shit.
