Beijing 2008 Olympic Games: NBCOlympics.com website is good
The NBC website for the Beijing Olympics this year is really good. It’s much better than the TV coverage. They have video coverage for all ofthe sports. I was watching unedited, commercial-free replay of ping pong. I watched about 30 mins of a 4 hour streaming video. How awesome is that?
By far NBC’s Olympic website is head and shoulders above its television coverage.
And another thing, where is American Airlines getting all this money to advertise on the Olympics every 5 minutes? Shouldn’t they be saving that money for employee pensions or lowering costs?
Beijing 2008 Olympic Games: Too much celebration
So now Michael Phelps finally has won his 8 medals now. What’s also lame is that they’ve been showing Phelps walk from the podium for 5 minutes followed by a 10 minute one-on-one interview with Bob Costas. Phelps deserves it but after seeing Michael Phelps on TV every 30 seconds for the past 7 days I’d really like to see some different faces. It’s an amazing accomplishment but geez the guy is on the screen ALL the time. I don’t like the way NBC overexposes olympic athletes.
Also Usain Bolt from Jamaica won the gold for the 100M dash. they showed him celebrating for about 5 minutes also. Isn’t that type of celebration coverage slightly excessive? I thought the Olympics were about sportsmanship but apparently NBC thinks the Olympics are all about celebrity and individual accomplishments. NBC could shave some of the celebration time off and show some different sports.
I wish I had CBC (Canadian television) in California. NBC sucks balls. Universal HD is slightly more diverse but they show a bit too much boxing.
Beijing 2008 Olympic Games: NBC sucks
I’ve been watching the Olympics now for a week now and up until Friday night. NBC coverage is so crappy you wouldn’t know there were any sports besides swimming, gymnastics, and synchronized diving in the Beijing Olympics. NBC always does that unbalanced bullshit.
Also according to NBC there are only a 5 or 6 athletes in the games: Michael Phelps, Dara Torres, Kerri Walsh, and Tyson Gay. Diversify, dammit! I want to see kayaking and badminton and some other interesting stuff.
